Double headed adapter bolt is a fastener with threads on both ends and a smooth rod in the middle, usually used for mechanical connection and fixation. This type of bolt is widely used in mining machinery, bridges, automobiles, motorcycles, boiler steel structures, cranes, large-span steel structures, and large buildings.

The typical uses of double headed bolts include the installation of accessories for large equipment, connections with thick and long connectors, and in places where hexagonal bolts are inconvenient to use. It is particularly suitable for situations that require thicker connections or cannot be achieved with ordinary bolts, such as foundation bolts.

Double headed bolts are divided into two types according to the force bearing method: ordinary and hinged holes. The former mainly bears axial force, while the latter is suitable for lateral force. In addition, double headed bolts are classified according to their head shape, including hexagonal head, round head, square head, countersunk head, and double headed bolts, among which hexagonal head is the most commonly used.
When installing double headed bolts, lubricating oil should be used to prevent jamming, and the fastening end should be tightly matched with the threads of the equipment body. The axis line must be perpendicular to the surface of the body. The surface treatment of double headed bolts, such as electroplating, blackening, oxidation, phosphating, and non electrolytic zinc sheet coating treatment, is widely used to ensure their corrosion resistance and interchangeability.
